- HANSA’s UHMWPE sheets are certified under ISO 9001, FDA, REACH, and RoHS standards.
What is UHMWPE Sheet
UHMWPE, also known as Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene, offers extremely high wear resistance, excellent sliding properties, and self-lubricating performance. It also has good chemical resistance and very high impact strength. Its molecular weight is about 10 times higher than that of conventional polyethylene resins, which gives it these outstanding properties. UHMWPE is commonly used in demanding industrial applications such as mining, bulk material handling, marine, and food processing.
HANSA is a professional manufacturer of engineering plastics with over 30 years of production experience and hundreds of successfully solved plastic engineering challenges. With advanced equipment and a highly skilled technical team, we can provide one-stop solutions for your UHMWPE projects.
Different Kinds of UHMWPE Sheets from HANSA
UHMWPE is widely used in industries such as mining, marine, paper, food processing, packaging, and automotive manufacturing due to its excellent wear resistance, self-lubricating properties, chemical resistance, low moisture absorption, and moderate cost.

Used in transportation systems, silo liners, port machinery, mining equipment, construction machinery, chutes, and hopper liners.

Used to manufacture anti-static components in mining sites, ports, and grain processing facilities.

Used in underground mining operations, especially for coal bunkers and other flammable components.

Used for temporary construction surfaces, outdoor silos, hoppers, and other outdoor applications.

Used in nuclear power plants, medical radiation protection products, and related applications.

Used in cranes and construction equipment to reduce energy loss and improve efficiency.

Commonly used in ports and docks, offering low cost and long service life.

Contains a large number of internal pores and is often used as filter panels.

Used as lining material for screw conveyors and storage bins, benefiting from UHMWPE’s wear resistance and self-lubricating properties.
Key Advantages for Industrial Buyers
UHMWPE sheets are widely used across industries thanks to their excellent performance and relatively low cost.

UHMWPE’s wear resistance surpasses nearly all engineering plastics and is 5–10 times higher than carbon steel.

UHMWPE has a water absorption rate of less than 0.01%, which is negligible. This makes it widely used in demanding marine applications.

Due to its excellent impact resistance, UHMWPE sheets are also used as anti-collision panels in ports and docks.

UHMWPE has an extremely low friction coefficient of around 0.04, similar to PTFE, and lower than nylon and polyoxymethylene (POM).
Reduce Maintenance Costs at the Source
Thanks to its extremely high wear resistance, more and more equipment manufacturers are now widely purchasing UHMWPE sheets to use as liners for chutes and hoppers.UHMWPE sheets not only provide excellent wear and impact resistance, effectively reducing long-term damage caused by materials such as ore, coal powder, and gravel, but their ultra-low friction also prevents material sticking and buildup. As a result, the need for frequent liner replacement is significantly reduced, helping you lower overall project and maintenance costs.

HANSA Precision UHMWPE Sheet Machining Capabilities
We support full-range UHMWPE processing, including:
- CNC machining for tight-tolerance components
- Custom cutting based on drawings or samples
- Drilling, milling, turning, and shaping
- Large-size plate processing without deformation
- Wear-part structural optimization before production
FDA-Certified UHMWPE Sheet for Food Applications
UHMWPE has a friction coefficient similar to PTFE, which means its surface is non-stick and does not easily trap contaminants, making it easy to clean. Its water absorption rate is less than 0.01%, which is almost zero.In addition, HANSA’s UHMWPE sheets are FDA certified, making them safe for use in the food processing industry. They are commonly used for food conveying systems, cutting boards, and sliding guides.

A Cost-Effective Material That Can Replace Metal
UHMWPE, with its ultra-high molecular weight in the millions, offers mechanical strength comparable to certain metals, while its wear resistance is up to 10 times higher than carbon steel. It also has excellent chemical resistance and is not easily corroded. In marine applications, UHMWPE sheets are often used to replace metal components that are prone to rust, as they resist saltwater corrosion and do not absorb moisture. In addition, UHMWPE is highly cost-effective. Its price is significantly lower—often dozens of times cheaper than PEEK sheets—making it an ideal engineering material for many industrial applications.
Your Reliable UHMWPE Manufacturing Partner

Our dedicated UHMWPE sales team will provide a fast quotation and respond within 6 hours. For urgent industrial replacement needs, HANSA keeps standard UHMWPE sheets in stock, allowing flexible and immediate inventory allocation.
Before every shipment, HANSA conducts a final inspection on each product, including thickness tolerance, dimensional accuracy, and surface quality.Any product that does not meet the required standards will not be shipped, and we trace it back to the initial production quality control stage for review and correction.

Buyers from HANSA
UHMWPE has an ultra-high molecular weight, which gives it excellent wear resistance and impact strength. PTFE, thanks to its strong carbon–fluorine bonds and stable molecular structure, offers outstanding chemical resistance and very low friction.
The key difference is molecular weight, which leads to very different performance. Regular PE has a lower molecular weight and a simpler structure. UHMWPE has a molecular weight in the millions, with much longer molecular chains, resulting in significantly better toughness and wear resistance.
UHMWPE is more expensive than standard plastics, but not excessively so—typically about 2–5 times higher. This is because its extremely high molecular weight makes it more difficult to process compared to conventional plastics.
No. UHMWPE is not suitable for high temperatures. Its long-term service temperature is up to 90°C, and short-term use is around 100–110°C. At higher temperatures, it softens and may gradually creep under load.
HANSA uses high-quality UHMWPE resin, ensuring consistent batch-to-batch quality and long service life. More importantly, we offer competitive pricing while maintaining stable and reliable product performance.
