Advantages of PTFE Packing
Non-contaminating Properties – PTFE packing offer hygienic packing due to the intern and heat resistance properties of PTFE material. It will not contaminate any product. This is in addition to the non-stick property.
Chemically Inert – polytetrafluoroethylene packing is chemically inert and does not react with most acids, bases, or solvents.
Low Coefficient of Friction – therefore, it offers a self-lubricating feature.
How to Choose Polytetrafluoroethylene Packing
Currently, there are many types of PTFE packing available in the market. You can choose the pure grade or improved version depending on your specific applications. Some common options include:
Zuivere PTFE-pakking – they are made from pure polytetrafluoroethylene material. They do not have any form of lubrication.
PTFE-grafietpakking – these polytetrafluoroethylenes have an addition of graphite in their composition. Usually, graphite lowers the friction coefficient of PTFE material further.
