What is PI Sheet

PI is known as “one of the most promising engineering plastics of the 21st century” and is among the most heat-resistant polymer materials currently available for practical use. It has a long-term service temperature range of -269°C to 300°C (-452.2°F to 572°F), and can withstand short-term temperatures above 400°C (752°F). It does not have a clearly defined melting point and can maintain stable mechanical strength even at extremely high temperatures.

HANSA started with fluoroplastics and has gradually expanded into a wide range of engineering plastics, including PI. Our products include PI sheets, rods, tubes, and finished machined components. With advanced processing equipment, we offer a variety of mature machining services such as turning, milling, CNC cutting, and laser cutting, with full OEM and ODM support. We provide one-stop plastic material solutions for your projects.

Basic polyimide resin

Standard PI sheets offer a range of advantages, including resistance to both high and low temperatures, good wear resistance, excellent electrical insulation, self-lubrication, a low coefficient of friction, low dielectric constant, strong chemical resistance, radiation resistance, and heat deformation resistance. They also provide high mechanical strength and good machinability.

They are mainly used for high- and low-temperature components, wear parts, seals, insulating parts, oil-free sealing applications, and chip testing sockets.

Cold-pressed PI Sheet

Used for manufacturing brake sensors, automotive window lift limit pins, eddy current rings, insulating parts, and high-temperature components.

Thermoplastic PI Sheet

Amber in appearance, widely used in aerospace, semiconductor, and oil industries. Suitable for high-temperature precision parts, insulating components, wear parts, and seals.

High-strength PI Sheet

Offers excellent creep resistance, fatigue resistance, and high flame retardancy. Used in aerospace, semiconductors, and electronics for oil-free lubricating parts, seals, gears, bushings, and chip test sockets.

Heat deformation-resistant PI Sheet

Used in aerospace, semiconductors, automotive, and hot runner systems. Features low friction, strong chemical resistance, and high mechanical strength.

Thermosetting PI Sheet

Resistant to both high and low temperatures, self-lubricating, and has low water absorption. Used for high/low temperature parts, insulating components, oil-free bearings, and bushings.

High-rigidity PI Sheet

Provides higher modulus and hardness compared to other PI sheets, with superior dimensional stability at high temperatures. Commonly used in aerospace, semiconductors, automotive, oil, and specialized industries.

Ultra high-temperature PI Sheet

Long-term service temperature above 400°C. Used in LCD and semiconductor manufacturing equipment, precision machined parts, and instrumentation components.

Ultra high-temperature wear-resistant PI Sheet

Long-term service temperature above 400°C with excellent wear resistance. Used for high-temperature components, high-temperature friction parts, and electronic manufacturing components.

Modified polyimide resin

Modified PI sheets are produced by adding other materials to enhance specific performance properties, such as self-lubrication, anti-static behavior, and wear resistance.

  • Excellent wear-resistant PI Sheet

Used for valve seats, bearings, bushings, piston rings, thrust washers, and hot glass holders. It is widely applied in aerospace, oil & gas, and general industrial fields.

  • Self-lubricating PI Sheet

Maintains self-lubricating properties even in vacuum environments. It is used for transmission components operating under vacuum conditions.

  • Anti-static PI Sheet

The electrical resistance can be adjusted, and the material offers good machinability. It is used for manufacturing anti-static components and electronic conductive-related parts.

Why You Need PI Sheet?

If your project involves special engineering applications where ordinary engineering plastics cannot operate reliably under extreme conditions and require frequent replacement or maintenance, then PI is the right choice. PI offers many advantages and is widely used in aerospace, electronics and electrical industries, as well as petrochemical applications.

High temperature resistance

PI has a long-term service temperature range of -269°C to 300°C, and can withstand short-term temperatures above 400°C.

Wear resistance

Under non-lubricated conditions, its PV limit is more than 10 times higher than that of general engineering plastics, allowing it to resist strong impact and abrasive wear.

Heat deformation resistance

PI does not melt at high temperatures, can withstand relatively high loads, and provides excellent dimensional stability.

Electrical insulation

PI has a dielectric strength higher than 20 kV/mm.

Your One-Stop CNC Machining Service Center for PI Plastic Sheet

HANSA is a manufacturing factory that integrates both production and machining. With 100 CNC machining centers and comprehensive processing capabilities, we can not only produce PI sheets but also machine them directly into finished parts for your project. This helps you reduce costs by eliminating the need to find a separate machining supplier. We provide one-stop plastic solutions, including high-performance materials like PI.

Custom PI Sheets to Your Required Dimensions

HANSA produces standard-size PI sheets and can also cut and manufacture custom sizes based on your requirements. With over 30 years of experience in plastic manufacturing and machining, we combine advanced production technology with deep product expertise. We’re happy to provide technical guidance for your project.

We maintain tight tolerances of ±0.03 mm on PI sheets. Thanks to PI’s excellent dimensional stability and low thermal expansion, it resists deformation and reliably maintains its finished dimensions.

Customers from HANSA

  • I purchased a non-standard size PI sheet that I couldn’t find from any other suppliers. I contacted many companies, and they all told me it couldn’t be made—HANSA was the only manufacturer that said they could do it. At first, I was skeptical about why others couldn’t produce it but HANSA could, so I decided to place a small trial order. After receiving the product, I was surprised by the quality—it passed inspection by my engineering team. I have to admit HANSA is a very experienced factory.

  • Due to some objective reasons, I stopped working with my previous supplier. While searching for a new one on Made-in-China, I came across HANSA. Their storefront immediately caught my attention. What stood out most was their sales team—they were very responsive, answered all my questions in detail, and made the communication very smooth and pleasant. It was easy to start cooperation with them.

  • This is now our 10th year working with HANSA. Their product quality has remained consistently excellent. I’m happy to pay a fair price in exchange for reliable materials, and this has also helped strengthen my customers’ trust in my company.

    David
  • Our company specializes in high-temperature insulating structural parts, and this was our first time purchasing PI sheets from HANSA. The overall experience exceeded expectations. The flatness and thickness consistency were very stable, and incoming inspection showed almost no deviation. We also conducted CNC machining tests, and the edges showed no chipping, resulting in a higher yield rate than our previous supplier. We are now preparing for long-term cooperation.

    JACK
  • We have changed suppliers several times before, as PI sheets from other vendors tended to deform or drift in size under high-temperature conditions. After switching to HANSA PI sheets, we tested them under continuous operation at 260°C, and they remained very stable without warping or softening. This level of stability is critical for our long-term operating equipment.

    Natasha
  • We’ve been using HANSA PI Sheet for a few months now and honestly it’s been solid. The material is consistent from batch to batch, which is a big deal for us because we run tight tolerances. No surprises during machining, and it holds up really well under high temp cycles. So far, very reliable supplier.
